About Chapin Newhard
Chapin Newhard founded 48North in 2023 to offer buy-side advisory services to family-owned and founder-led businesses. His firm aims to help business owners connect with the right private equity partners, enabling them to grow, retire, or explore other options without the typical financial burden of upfront fees associated with most advisory services.
Chapin’s journey to founding 48North began with his experience at Pine Tree Equity, a private equity firm in Miami. During his time there, he witnessed the challenges faced by business owners considering selling their companies. Many entrepreneurs were overwhelmed by the number of buyers reaching out and struggled to navigate the complexities of selling or partnering with outside investors.
Seeing a gap in the advisory market, Chapin recognized the need for a service representing the business owner’s best interests without requiring upfront payments. This realization led to the creation of 48North, an advisory firm designed to guide entrepreneurs through the process with clear, unbiased advice.
